Dear Teacher:
Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is pleased to offer this Teacher's Guide as an assist in planning your lessons. Included are eleven lesson plans and a bibliography.
The Teacher's Guide was made possible through a grant from the National Park Foundation - Parks as Classrooms. Mr. Robert Ross, Curriculum Coordinator, Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School, Baltimore City Public Schools, developed these lesson plans for use in grades 5-8.
The lessons explore various aspects of Fort McHenry and the British attack on Baltimore in 1814. Reproducible information sheets are included for handout to students.
Please use the lesson plans in your classroom. Your comments will be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and support of the park.
Sincerely,
Superintendent
