Those with "Citizen Phy." as a title were civilian physicians that were contracted to provide medical services for specific periods of time.
The dates shown are the time periods in which the surgeons were offically stationed at Fort Laramie. During portions of these periods, some surgeons may have been absent on leave or on detached service to other institutions.
