June, July, August and September Ranger interpretive talks: Join Park Rangers at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily for interpretive talks. Stop by the visitor center and check out what and where the talk will be. Some of the Subject will be The River Battle, Civil War Field Artillery crew drill, Heavy Artillery, and Civil War Medicine. August 26, 27 2006 Civil War Photography Exhibit: Images depicting various types of photographs from the Civil War, including military and civilian will be on display. A Power Point presentation on the impact of photography during the Civil War will be presented at 10:00 and 11:00a.m, 2:00p.m and 3:00p.m.. each day Fort Donelson Visitor Center. September 2, 3, 4 2006 AWARD-WINNING EXHIBIT COMES TO BATTLEFIELD: This Labor Day weekend, visit Fort Donelson National Battlefield for some in-depth education on life during the Civil war. “Southron’s, Ghosts of the Confederacy,” a visual tour of the people of the South and images from the Civil War period will be displayed at the park’s Visitor Center on September 2, 3, & 4, 2006. Admission is free. Also, Fort Donelson: A Place for Heroes, a new film created by the Tennessee Renaissance Center, Dickson, Tennessee, and the Park Ranger staff at Fort Donelson National Battlefield will be presented for all to preview at 12:00, 1, 2, 3, and 4 pm each day over Labor Day weekend. Park Rangers will be available to answer questions about the parks educational programs for students. |
