There are several places to hike at Fire Island National Seashore. Unlike some other beaches in the country, you can walk the entire 26-miles of the shoreline on Fire Island. The Watch Hill unit has a hiking trail with numbered stops and an accompanying interpretive brochure. The Sailors Haven unit has a boardwalk through the marsh and woodlands for hiking. Hiking is also possible in the Wilderness Area.
