The 'Stump the Service' prize, a personalized NPS T-shirt, was awarded to the Eugene O'Neill NHS park staff who submitted the most challenging question, "Who is buried at Eugene O'Neill NHS?" The photo is the tombstone and contest winners Glenn Fuller (retired Superintendent), Margaret Styles and Christine Rotzinger (Intepretive Park Rangers).

The answer choices were (a) Carlotta Monterey O'Neill, (b) Eugene Gladstone O'Neill, (c) Silverdene Emblem O'Neill, (d) Oona Agnes O'Neill, or (e) Herbert Freeman.

The correct answer was (c) Silverdene Emblem O'Neill, Eugene and Carlotta O'Neill's beloved Dalmation, more commonly called Blemie. When Blemie died the O'Neill's buried him on their property near Tao House, now part of Eugene O'Neill NHS. The tombstone reads:

Blemie (Silverdene Emblem), Born Sept. 20, 1927 England, Died Dec. 17, 1940 Tao House, Sleep in Peace Faithful Friend

Only 7.9% of the NPS staff who attempted to answer this question were correct. Eugene O'Neill is buried at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston. Thanks for playing!
