Dear Mrs. Roosevelt:
Many, many thanks for your very gracious letter of January 20. I appreciate your
assurance that you do not believe in these rumors and you understand how such matters arise. I
would not want to ask you to write another column on this and I believe we can let it stand for
the present.
I do hope that we have a chance to get together sometime in the future to discuss other
matters, as I have indicated before.
