life and work of an outstanding woman in American history
and the issues to which she devoted her considerable intellect
and humanitarian concerns.
Our
Significance Statement -
Eleanor Roosevelt National
Historic Site The site's intimate association
during the most prominent and influential period of her
life, 1924 to 1962, where she emerged as an individual.
The site where she wrote many of her columns; formulated
and lived her political and social beliefs; became active
in increasing women's political involvement in society;
operated ValKill Industries; and worked as a delegate to
the United Nations and First Lady of the World to create
the International Declaration of Human Rights.

Wedding Permits
Wedding ceremonies may be held in the Italian Gardens at the
Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site in Hyde Park. This
is the only available wedding ceremony location for the three
Hyde Park area national historic sites. A permit is necessary.
