| Procedure: |
This lesson contains five case studies that compel students
to analyze their own beliefs about the sanctity of burial practices and the preservation
of the past. Students are expected to read a case and discuss with other class members
possible acceptable solutions to the dilemma posed in the situation. This activity is set
up as a small group activity. Give each group of students an ample amount of time to
"brainstorm" possible solutions to the problem posed in their case. Each of the
five small groups could then present their case and solutions to the class. Through a
general follow up class discussion students should realize the similarities of the cases
in regards to the problems posed. Hopefully, the class could agree upon, and recognize a
group of acceptable strategies that fit the stated objectives for the lesson. Individual
teachers could also use various types of writing activities related to the case studies as
well. |
