Other Project Activities
With work completed at Glenmont, the main focus of the Edison National Historic Site renovation and restoration project has moved to the laboratory buildings at Main Street and Lakeside Avenue in West Orange.
The following pictures summarize the ongoing activities. We will continue to update you here on the progress of the work to preserve the Edison heritage and to make it more accessible.

Building 1 is being renovated to provide an expanded visitor’s center.
Entrance to Edison National Historic Site will now be through Main Street gate. |

An elevator is being installed in the main laboratory building for improved access. |

An HVAC system in the laboratory buildings will help preserve structures
and artifacts. |

An inert gas fire suppression system is being replaced by an existing sprinkler system which is being renovated and refurbished. |
