Click the arrows to navigate through the slide show.

The brick, mortar, and concrete construction at the Edison National Historic Site has persevered under every imaginable weather condition from blizzard and torrent to draught and triple-digit heat.

These trials have continued since the Laboratory was first constructed in the late 1880s.

Because the masonry provides the first line of defense against the weather, the construction projects at the Edison National Historic Site include particular focus to this element of the buildings.
