The National Park Service and the Thomas A. Edison Preservation Foundation are partnering in this project to:

- Increase the exhibition space available to display artifacts from the Edison National Historic Site collection.
- Improve the preservation environment for the collection.
- Improve visitor access and safety.
- Enhance fire detection and suppression throughout the Site.
The NPS Denver Service Center is providing planning coordination for these efforts.
