About the Park
Dayton Aviation Hertiage NHP is experiencing an exciting time in its development with expanding facilities and services, not to mention the historic Centennial of Flight. Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park is located in urban Dayton, Ohio. The park is dedicated to the stories of Wilbur and Orville Wright and Paul Laurence Dunbar. National Park Service-operated facilities include two interpretive centers. The Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center and Aviation Trail Visitor Center and Museum, and the Wright Cycle Company building, form the west Dayton hub concentrating on the life and times of the Wright brothers and Paul Laurence Dunbar. The cycle shop is the only location of the brothers cycle business in its original location. The Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center is in the east portal of the park, emphasizing the work of the brothers at nearby Huffman Prairie Flying Field and the role of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in the advancement of aviation technology and development.
