Inventing Flight Celebration Public Transit Service
The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will be providing a variety of free public transit services for the convenience of visitors to the Inventing Flight Celebration being held July 3-20, 2003. Public transit will connect all of the various celebration and Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park locations. Public transit service will also be available from a number of Park-n-Ride locations that will enable visitors to park away from the congested areas, and ride the bus to enjoy all the activities. The various transit services are described below. Buses will be clearly identified with the destination they are serving.

Please refer to the Celebration Area Map for locations of the various sites, and the RTA Daily Service Plan for the service details on a day-by-day basis. You can also call the RTA Rideline at 937-226-1144 for service information.

Regular Daily Service, July 3–20, 2003
Express Service Between Park-n-Ride Locations and Celebration Central
In order to enable celebration visitors to avoid parking congestion, daily express service will be provided between the various Park-n-Ride locations and the Celebration Central location on Deeds Point. These expresses will serve Celebration Central from the Career Academy Transit Hub, located just across the river from Celebration Central and within easy walking distance via a footbridge across the river. The frequency of operation is typically every 10 to 20 minutes - more frequently during major events. The Park-n-Ride locations, which are located conveniently to major roads in different sections of the Dayton area, are:

Air Force Museum Park-n-Ride
at Wright Patterson Air Force Base; 1100 Spatz Drive, WPAFB, OH

UD Arena Park-n-Ride
off of I-75, at the Edwin C. Moses exit; 1801 Edwin C. Moses Blvd., Dayton OH

Salem Mall Park-n-Ride
near SR 49 off of Shiloh Springs Road; 5200 Salem Avenue behind Sears store; Trotwood, OH

N. Dixie at Northwoods Blvd. Park-n-Ride
off of I-75 at the Northwoods Blvd exit; 3800 Wright Drive, Vandalia, OH

Conover Street Park-n-Ride
off of US 35, in Wright-Dunbar District; 106 N. Conover St., Dayton, OH

The Heritage Trail Route
The Heritage Trail Route will provide service along the Dayton Aviation Heritage Trail between the Career Academy Transit Hub at Celebration Central and the Wright Dunbar Gateway, the Wright Cycle Company Complex, and the Paul Laurence Dunbar House, in the Wright-Dunbar area to the west, and the Air Force Museum and Park-n-Ride to the east. Buses will run approximately every 15 minutes.

Huffman Prairie/Wright Memorial and Carillon Historical Park Shuttles
The Huffman Prairie Shuttle service will operate from the Air Force Museum Park-n-Ride and will take you to the Wright Memorial and the Huffman Prairie Flying Field. Service operates hourly.

The Carillon Historical Park Shuttle will operate from the Conover Street Park-n-Ride and will take you to the Dunbar House, the Wright Cycle Company Complex, the Wright Dunbar Gateway, and the Carillon Historical Park. Service operates every 30 minutes.

Celebration Central Tram Route
To assist you with transportation in the Celebration Central area on Deeds Point, a tram will provide a connection between Celebration Central and the Orbit Zone.

Additional Services for Special Events
For the convenience of visitors wanting to attend various special events during Inventing Flight, the following additional express services from the Park-n-Ride sites will be provided.

Balloon Glow
Located at the Air Force Museum, July 4, 2003
Express service is provided to the Air Force Museum from the following other Park-n-Ride locations:

UD Arena Park-n-Ride

Salem Mall Park-n-Ride

N. Dixie/Northwoods Blvd. Park-n-Ride

These expresses run approximately every 10-15 minutes during the time of the event.

Balloon Launches
Located at the Air Force Museum, July 5–6, 2003
Express service will be provided to the Air Force Museum from the following other Park-n-Ride locations:

UD Arena Park-n-Ride

Salem Mall Park-n-Ride

N. Dixie/Northwoods Blvd. Park-n-Ride

These expresses run approximately every 10-15 minutes during the time of the event.

Black Cultural Festival
Located at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds
July 11–13, 2003
Transportation services will be provided to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, site of the Festival, from the following locations:

UD Arena Park-n-Ride

Career Academy Transit Hub at Celebration
Central (no express parking at this site)

Service will operate approximately every 10-15 minutes during the times of the event.

U.S. International Air and Trade Show
Located at the eastern end of the Dayton Airport
July 17–20
Express services will be provided between the Air Show and the following locations:

UD Arena Park-n-Ride

Air Force Museum Park-n-Ride

Salem Mall Park-n-Ride

Career Academy Transit Hub at Celebration
Central (no express parking at this site)

These expresses will run approximately every 10–15 minutes during the days of this event. Shuttle service will also be provided between the perimeter Air Show Parking and the Air Show entrance.
