Park at the Tree Molds Parking Lot. To guide your students around the Broken Top Loop, including Buffalo Caves, will require a minimum of 2 hours and cover a distance of approximately 2 miles. Because none of the loop trail is surfaced and there are areas where the trail is very rough, the trail is not recommended for students with walking disabilities. Make students aware that they will be gone for over 2 hours and that, other than the vault toilets at the parking lot, there will be no restroom facilities along the route. For safety reasons, as well as for students to see and for the teacher to be heard, it is recommended that groups be kept to 30 students or less.
