Thursday August 22
10:00 a.m.

Boat Tours — See Crater Lake up close with a ranger! Tickets must be purchased at the Cleetwood Trail Parking Area at least 45 minutes before the tour begins. Be prepared for a 2.2 mile round-trip hike on a strenuous trail. Bring plenty of water and snacks and be sure to wear sturdy shoes.

Boat tours leave from the Cleetwood Cove Dock and run 1-1/2 hours. Tours depart at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM.

A Century of Stewardship — Celebrate the Centennial and discover part of the history behind one of America's first National Parks. Meet on the back porch of the Crater Lake Lodge. (20 minutes)

This program is also offered at 4:00 PM.

Garfield Peak Hike — Enjoy spectacular views and wildflowers as you hike up this beautiful peak. Meet at the Rim Visitor Center. (2 miles, 2 hours)

11:00 a.m. Discovering Crater Lake — Explore the special qualities and features of the "Jewel of the Cascades," and learn how it came to be. Meet at the Sinnott Memorial Overlook. (20 minutes)

This program is also offered at 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.

2:30 p.m.

Watchman Peak Hike — Hike to a breathtaking viewpoint and the site of a historic fire lookout. Meet at the Watchman Trailhead parking area. (1.4 miles, 1-1/2 hours)

Hot Topics — Our understanding of Crater Lake National Park continues to grow, even as we face increasingly complex challenges. Learn about current issues or recent research. Meet on the back porch of the Crater Lake Lodge. (30 minutes)

5:00 p.m.

Junior Ranger Program — Visitors 6 to 12 years old may become "Junior Rangers" by participating in this activity! Meet at the Mazama Campground Amphitheater, located between D and E loops. (1 hour)

8:30 p.m.

Evening Campfire Program — Relax under the stars and learn more about Crater Lake National Park during an informative slide presentation. The program is held at the Mazama Campground Amphitheater, located between D and E loops. (1 hour).

Friday, August 23

Mt. Scott Hike — Join a ranger for a hike to the highest peak in Crater Lake National Park. The view is amazing! Wear sturdy shoes, and bring plenty of water and a lunch. Meet at the Mt. Scott Trailhead parking area. (5 miles, 4 hours)

Artists Appreciation Open House — Join us at a public open house to recognize the artists who participated in last year's Artists-in-Residence program at Crater Lake National Park. Participating artists will be invited to attend and talk to the public about their experiences. The art exhibit will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Public Reception at Rim Village — The park will host a public reception at the Rim Village Picnic Area. The reception will open with a performance of the one-man, one-act play "Resolutions," about William Steel, the founder of Crater Lake National Park. A speaker will talk about the park's past, present and future and outline the events planned for the park's rededication on Sunday. Refreshments featuring a Crater Lake birthday cake will be served.

2:30 p.m.

Annie Creek Canyon Hike — Enjoy a cool mountain stream in a beautiful canyon. Wildflowers abound! Meet at the Mazama Campground Amphitheater, located between D and E loops. (1.7 miles, 1-1/2 hours)

5:00 p.m.

Junior Ranger Program — Visitors 6 to 12 years old may become "Junior Rangers" by participating in this activity! Meet at the Mazama Campground Amphitheater, located between D and E loops. (1 hour)

Crater Peak Hike — Take a walk up the side of an ancient cinder cone volcano. This beautiful spot is one of the lesser known trails in Crater Lake National Park. Wear sturdy shoes, and bring plenty of water and a lunch. Meet at the Crater Peak Trailhead parking area near Vidae Falls, 3 miles east of Park Headquarters. (5 miles, 4 hours)

Public Walking Tour of Rim Village Rehabilitation Projects — Join park planners for the inside story on the rehabilitation of the historic buildings at Rim Village. Starting at the Crater Lake Lodge, the tour will highlight the history of Rim Village and current and future efforts by the National Park Service to restore and rehabilitate its historic character. The tour will culminate at the Sinnott Memorial in time for the new Sinnott interpretive exhibit dedication.

2:00 p.m.

Sinnott Exhibit Dedication — The Sinnott Memorial Overlook has been recently rehabilitated and equipped with new interpretive exhibits highlighting the geology and scientific investigations of Crater Lake. Join us for a special "ribbon cutting" ceremony at the Overlook to recognize the building's restoration and new exhibits. A speaker will give a brief history of the Sinnott Memorial followed by a ribbon cutting, opening the new exhibit room.

Sunday August 25 (Fee Free Day)

The Park will be open to everyone without charge. The Rim Village parking lot will be closed to public parking throughout the day. The area will be open to pedestrians. The park will provide alternative shuttle transportation to Rim Village from satellite parking areas.

9:00 a.m.

Rim Village Morning Activities — Rim Village facilities will be open to pedestrians. There will be booth display areas for several groups, including the Crater Lake Natural History Association, the Friends of Crater Lake National Park, the Southern Oregon Visitors Association, and the Klamath and Cow Creek Tribes as well as displays for the park's General Management Plan, Rim Redevelopment, and Science and Learning Center planning activities.

12:30 p.m.

Pre-Event and Post-Event Entertainment — Feel free to arrive early and linger after the Centennial Rededication ceremony and enjoy several groups including the Ashland City Band and the Klamath Tribal drummers and dancers who will perform for the public.

1:00 p.m.

Public Rededication Ceremony at Rim Village — You are cordially invited to join us for the Crater Lake National Park Rededication commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Park. At this special event, dignitaries from the National Park Service, local Tribes, and other federal, state, and local governments will speak about the enduring value of Crater Lake in our natural and cultural heritage. Native American groups will provide opening and closing invocations as well as a performance by drummers and dancers. The Oregon Youth Chorale will perform. A time capsule and plaque will commemorate the park's centennial.

3:00 p.m.

Godfrey Glen Hike — Explore some of Crater Lake's geology as you hike through an old growth forest. Recent adaptations have made this a trail accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, or a gentle walk. Meet at the Godfrey Glen parking area, located 2 miles south of Park Headquarters. (1 mile, 1 hour)
