Climbing

The 25' to 70' high rock outcrops near Great Falls in Montgomery County, MD offer a variety of climbs. A good book is the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club's "Carderock Past & Present: A Climbing Guide". The Potomac River is extremely dangerous and climbers need to respect the river and the canal’s resources.
