Ages 6-8 or 9-11

Catoctin Junior Ranger Badge

A self discovery workbook to be completed while visiting the park and inlcudes a trail hike requirement. Park wildlife and cultural resources are explored through stories, fill in the blank, puzzles, and games. If a child completes the workbook as an individual, he/she will earn a Junior Ranger badge. The program is designed for individuals and/or family groups. If a larger group of students completes the workbook, the group earns a poster. The Junior Ranger program promotes stewardship and protection of Catoctin Mountain Park, a unit of the National Park Service. Estimated time to complete program is 2-3 hours.
