Activity Description
Students explore Carl Sandburg's hobo travels and get a glimpse of
the turn of the 20th century Hobo lifestyle.
Students then answer questions in quiz format pertaining to Sandburg's
experiences as a Hobo.
Classroom Use
For groups or individual study
Time: approximately 40 min.; 15 min. if Sandburg's
Hobo Journal and Hobo Jargon
are read beforehand, outside of computer lab; Two days if incorporate
Hobo Journal activity.
Materials: use of computer; photocopies
of Hobo Journal and Hobo Jargon if necessary.
