SICK BAY

During the Second World War, the CASSIN YOUNG was assigned a doctor who conducted sick call each morning in this room. He also served as food inspector, librarian, and ship's chaplain, and he might have stood watch on occasion. This room was too small to conduct surgery. This was done on larger ships or, if necessary, carried out in the officers' wardroom.
