Areas of Planning Concern
Lincoln, RI

The Town of Lincoln has identified five areas within its limits that its zoning ordinance treats as "Areas of Planning Concern." APCs are overlay districts that require review by an APC Committee for projects involving new construction, substantial alteration, or change in use. The purpose of each APC is to ensure that development is consistent with both Lincoln's Comprehensive Plan, and with specific guidelines pertaining to each APC.

Composed of seven members representing the Planning Board, Town Council, town engineer, town administrator, Conservation Commission, and the Zoning Enforcement Officer, the APC Committee is well versed in issues of land use, and has the authority to make recommendations to the Town Council.
