Noises
from work in this room filled the air during the 1840's. Activities in
this room most likely included horseshoeing, and the repair and manufacturing
of tools, metal trade goods, and kitchen hardware.
 This
room was furnished with a variety of blacksmithing and wheelwright tools.
Bent & St. Vrain ordered a 123 pound iron anvil in 1840; they also
purchased a bellows for $20.00. A list of today's equipment includes a
stack of bar iron, slack tub, swage block, mandrills, hammers and tongs,
punches and chisels, a vise and numerous files.
