Featured in April, 2004 National Geographic Magazine: It's All Good in the Badlands

National parks are established through acts of Congress due to the national significance of the resources and stories held in those special places. In its April, 2004 edition, National Geographic Magazine confirms the beauty and importance of Badlands National Park, South Dakota's largest national park, in a sixteen page spread that is part of their series American Landscapes. Twelve outstanding photographs by Annie Griffiths Belt accompany the feature article by National Geographic Senior Writer John L. Eliot. The article also discusses the park's emphasis on resource protection, particularly efforts to reduce theft of paleontological (fossil) resources.
