The Arkansas Gazette - Volume 1, Number 1


New York, Aug. 17.

The citizens of Liverpool were gratified and astonished by the arrival, at that port, on the 21st of June, of the beautiful Steam Ship Savannah, capt. Rogers, in 26 days from Savannah, and 21 from land to land. She was 5 days in the channel before she got up to Liverpool, and worked her engine 18 days of the passage. She is the first ship on this construction that ever has undertaken a voyage across the Atlantic. She was built in this city, and is 319 tons.

On the 14th October by the same, Mr. Michael Cottoner, to Miss Elizabeth Kepler, both of this county.

On the 28th Oct. by the same, Mr. Brenbard Raphael, to Miss Catharine Gossieau, both of this county.

At St. Louis, n the 26th Sept. Capt. Aaron T. Crane, late Post Master at that place.
