WHAT HE DOES:

 Among his many duties, Bill Nine has transcribed, computerized and published with the Park Historian a list of Confederate soldiers Paroled at Appomattox Court House.

 

WHY HE VOLUNTEERS:

Bill McDermott is a volunteer tour guide at the McLean House, and gives guided walks for visitors on the Surrender meeting between Generals Lee and Grant.

 

WHAT HE DOES:

 

Bill has volunteered at the Park for nine years, working one day every week.

 

 

WHY HE VOLUNTEERS:

 "I enjoy volunteering at the Park, because it is only natural to keep doing something that is pleasing and enjoyable in which you feel you are successful."

 

 

Ruth has been volunteering for four years….

 

WHAT SHE DOES:

 

Ruth has helped the Park Curator to do inventories of museum artifacts in all the historic structures at the Park.
