Peers House ca. 1850, R. Henry 1997

Peers House Description: 34'x18' with raised basement 5'8" above grade & attic,single step external end chimneys. W elevation: temple form entry porch raised to 1st floor. East elevation: porch with shed roof 1st floor. At time of the Surrender, it was occupied by George Peers, Appomattox County Clerk of the Court. Confederate soldiers marched by the Peers' house, to stack their arms, accouterments, & battle flags in in a formal surrender ceremony on April 12, 1865.
