Appomattox Court House National Historic Park, located in beautiful central Virginia was the site of a battle that laid the groundwork for the reunification of the nation.

 Today, a new battle is being waged to preserve and protect this piece of America's heritage for the enjoyment of this and future generations. National Park Service employees have turned to modern day patriots who volunteer their time to help us ensure that this wonderful resource is the best it can be.

 Volunteers contributed their time and energy to make Appomattox Court House NHP a better place for the thousands of visitors who come to the park each year. These volunteers perform a variety of jobs including:
