Recreational Opportunities
	Introduction The following recreational opportunities are available at Antietam National Battlefield:

	Birding - The battlefield offers a home for many species of birds and a haven for bird-watching, especially along the Snavely Ford Trail. A bird list, prepared by the Washington County Chapter of the Maryland Ornithological Society, is available at the Visitor Center.

	Fishing - [Select item]
	Hiking - Snavely Ford Trail, 2½ miles long, is a pleasant walk along Antietam Creek. Hiking is also permitted along the shoulder of the 8½-mile tour road.
