This video, A Grateful Island Remembers, "Operation
Forager", commemorates the 50th anniversary of the World War II
invasions of Saipan and Tinian islands, called "Operation Forager". On
the 50th anniversary, June 15th 1994, more than 150 veterans of World
War II who were involved in the land, sea and air war in the Mariana Islands
and Iwo Jima visited Saipan for ceremonies, dedications and celebrations.
This video recalls the war and remembers those who fought, those who died,
and those who returned 50 years later.
