National Park Week 1997 at the American Memorial Park
in Saipan included a day devoted to rememberance of World War II in
the Northern Mariana Islands. On April 21, 1997 an observance was held
at the Court of Honor and Flag Circle, which included presentation of
colors by a CNMI Honor Guard, a wreath-laying ceremony and speeches
by dignitaries and veterans.
