Fish of Amistad National Recreation Area
In the list that follows, sixty-four species of fish, representing fourteen families, are known to presently or historically occur in the Amistad area. Those preceeded by an asterisk (*) represent species documented from the literature as occurring in the Devils, Pecos, and Rio Grande prior to inundation. They may now be present only further upstream or just below the boundaries of the reservoir, on the Devils, Rio Grande, and Pecos Rivers.
