The plants appreciate your leave no trace thinking! When we stay on the trails, we are protecting the plants off the trail from our shoes' trampling effects. We are also protecting the soil from eroding. Exploration off established trails could lead to a situation of getting lost and confused. Look for the trail markers while you hike and follow their lead! Check out some examples of trail markers in Acadia National Park.
