On the carriage roads in Acadia National Park, you will see hikers, bikers, horseback riders, and even horse-drawn carriages. No cars are allowed on these roads. John D. There are 17 bridges that pass over streams along the carriage roads. The teams that worked on these bridges had difficult and sometimes dangerous jobs. It took the stonecutters an entire day to cut and shape each stone and they worked through all of the seasons. How long do you think it took to build one bridge?
