What's Happened Here??

Abbe Museum
Abbe MuseumThe Abbe Museum is named after Robert Abbe, a doctor who collected historical artifacts. Inside the museum, you can explore many of these artifacts from the Wabanaki people, the Native Americans who inhabited Mount Desert Island for the past 5000 years. The Wabanakis traveled on foot paths on land and used birch bark canoes to explore waterways. What do you think their homes looked like? Click here to see a Wabanaki wigwam.
