Weekly Forecast by Location

Glacier Point: Visitors can anticipate moderate to heavy traffic, especially on Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 1pm. Expect some short delays and congestion over the weekend on the Glacier Point Road and vicinity. Remember to bring your camera to capture some of most panoramic and beautiful vistas in the world including views of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome and El Capitan!

Tuolumne Meadows: The only access to the Tuolumne Meadows area is via Highway 120 from near Lee Vining. Expect some smoke on the highway due to the “Rim Fire”. Visitors stopping and getting out of cars to view the “Rim Fire” along the Tioga Road corridor should be very cautious of moving traffic. Driving slower around roadside attractions and parking areas saves lives!

Wawona and Mariposa Grove: Enjoy limitless scenic vistas while visiting the historic Wawona District! The Glacier Point Road offers many options to explore this gorgeous area on foot. Lighter traffic is expected all week with the heaviest between 11am and 1pm. Consider arriving before 9am for the best parking spots. Some delays can be expected near the entrance station – watch for construction equipment and workers in the area. New entrance lanes and kiosks are being constructed!

Yosemite Valley: The only access to Yosemite Valley is via Highway 140 from Merced or Highway 41 from Fresno. “The Valley” continues to be warm and dry. Traffic is expected to be light during the week with slightly heavier traffic over the weekend. Arrive by 9am to minimize your wait at the entrance stations. Parking may be limited in Yosemite Valley in the afternoon over the holiday weekend. Expect smoke on the Big Oak Flat Road and Highway 120.
