Summary | The museum collection relates to the discovery, exploration, and development of the Timpanogos cave system, the establishment and operation of the monument, Native American use of the canyon, and mining history and natural history associated with the monument. The collection includes archival and photographic materials (e.g., surveys, oral history tapes; maps; monument legends; postcards; photographs of natural disasters; cave formations; canyon views; maintenance projects); historic objects (e.g., bottles, car stickers, posters, signs, insulators); herbarium; representative geological specimens of exposed formations; and representative invertebrate fossils from formations exposed in the canyon and mammal fossils from the cave. |
