REDWOOD NATIONAL AND STATE PARKS
Searchers Find Body Of Suicide Victim
On the afternoon of Friday, November 9th, rangers were notified that a vehicle parked at a trailhead had apparently been there for several days. A check on the registration showed that it was registered to a man who had been missing since November 2nd. A hasty search of the area was conducted by rangers, but had to be suspended due to darkness. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Humboldt County Search and Rescue, and rangers again searched the area the following morning. Around 10 a.m., they found the man’s body in an area not accessible to the general public. The Humboldt County coroner’s office has ruled the death a suicide.
