There are many ways to support Appomattox Court House NHP. Some may chose to volunteer their time and become a Volunteer In Parks (VIP), or purchase items from the park's bookstore which generates funds for programs in the park. As of the spring of 2012 there is yet another way. Become a friend of the park by joining or contributing to the Appomattox 1865 Foundation. This recently formed Friends Group is an authorized partner of the park.

Did You Know?
Colonel Charles Marshall, Lee's aide-de-camp, was the great-nephew of Chief Justice John Marshall. Charles Marshall chose the site of the surrender meeting and was the only Confederate present in the McLean House besides General Lee.
