Annual Volunteer Banquet

The annual end-of-season Volunteer Banquet is always a success. This year the Spring Grove Farm Bed and Breakfast owned by park volunteers Joe and Emily Sayers hosted the event. The food was catered by Todd (staff) and Sheila Roach (volunteer). It was a great evening recognizing the many volunteers at Appomattox Court House.

 
 

Did You Know?

Battle of Appomattox Station

Two battles were fought here before the surrender.  On April 8th, Union cavalry attacked Confederate artillery at Appomattox Station.  The next morning, Confederate troops attempted to break out, but were halted by Union infantry and cavalry in the battle of Appomattox Court House.
