Riddle on the Harp started out as two Bedford County neighbors learning traditional tunes from the British Isles, which gave birth to something more. Since their 2001 coffeehouse debut, Riddle has performed at Central Virginia festivals, community concerts, coffeehouses, weddings, gallery openings, civic events and private parties. The band also follows a tradition of periodic charitable performances at area nursing homes, schools, fund-raisers, and the like. Currently a trio, they consider their success a series of miracles... Even after a decade, four CDs, the Riddle ladies still enjoy every opportunity to celebrate the gift of music.

Riddle on the Harp performs with instruments such as guitar, flute, hammered dulcimer, Celtic harp, pennywhistle, banjo and percussion, just for starters! Riddle's diverse repertoire includes lively reels and jigs, international folk music, ballads, Americana songs, traditional and classical tunes, original pieces, hymns and children's songs. Their CDs include two collections Celtic and traditional tunes, a Christmas CD, and am Americana CD. The latter, Americana Patchwork, is their most recent project, created to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Civil War and to honor our nation's rich musical history.

All out musicians are donating their time to perform for you! Please support them by purchasing their CD's.

The Sweeney Cabin is an original structure in the National Park. It is the Foundation's goal to restore it and open it to visitors. Your donations will help us attain our goal.

Sponsored by the 1865 foundation (park friends group)
