Summer Day Camp
Day campers learn about soldiers' life during the Civil War. NPS photo Each summer Appomattox Court House National Historical Park hosts summer day camps for kids. Camps for 2013 will be two-day camps and will be more age specific than in the past, ages 7-10 and 11-14. The camps run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day, these are not overnight camps. Each 2-day camp will cover both the Civil War and the surrender. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers each day. There is a $10 fee per child that includes camp tee-shirt and activity costs. July 15,16 (ages 7-10) July 22,23 (ages 7-10) July 19,20 (ages 11-14) Please Note - The majority of these camps are outside. Please dress your child according to the weather. Apply sunscreen (as needed) prior to dropping off camper. ** Campers need to bring a bagged lunch, including a beverage, and should bring water, and walking shoes.
