Lecture at Antietam National Battlefield

 

The George Tyler Moore Center for the Study of the Civil War will sponsor a program in the Antietam National Battlefield Visitor Center Theater at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23. This event is in conjunction with the center's annual Seborg Award for Civil War Scholarship. This year's awardee, Dr. Bruce Levine, University of Illinois at Champaign - Urbana, won for his book Confederate Emancipation: Southern Plans to Free and Arm Slaves During the Civil War.

 

Center Director, Dr. Mark Snell will preside, with an introduction by Antietam National Battlefield Historian, Ted Alexander. Dr. Snell will introduce Dr. Levine who will speak for about 30 minutes.

 

Following the talk there will be a reception held upstairs in the observation room. The bookstore will also be open and both Dr. Snell and Dr. Levine's books will be for sale.
