Fee Free Weekends Announced

Antietam National Battlefield Superintendent J.W. Howard announced today that there will be three “Fee Free” Weekends at the Sharpsburg Battlefield this summer.
The weekends will be June 20th & 21st, July 18th & 19th this weekend there will be Living History on the Battlefield representing the 6th New Hampshire Infantry, on August 15th & 16th Living Historians will be representing the Stonewall Brigade.
On these weekends all Entrance Fees will be waived for Battlefield Visitors, and they will be able to enjoy all the Visitor Center and Museum, Ranger Programs and Living History Programs for free.
Superintendent Howard stated, “This is a great opportunity to visit your National Battlefield and enjoy a day of Ranger Programs, a visit to the Pry House Medical Museum, hiking the 10 miles of trails or maybe a bike ride on the Tour Road”.

Did You Know?
Henry Kyd Douglas, the youngest staff officer for Gen. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson was a native of the Sharpsburg area. His family home was just 4 miles west of the Battlefield. His uniform and personal library are part of the Battlefield collection.
