New Curriculum-based Activities and Resources!
Curriculum-based activities designed to further explore the Andersonville story are available for use in your classroom. Each provides a different way of teaching about the Civil War prisoner of War experience and were developed in cooperation with certified teachers in the State of Georgia.

These activities include:

  • Document-based Inquiry
  • Economics and Trade
  • Medical Conditions
  • Resources to make the most during a self-guided visit.

Look for a new activity or item at least once a month this fall and winter!

 
 

Teaching with Historic Places Lesson Plan
Lesson #11: Andersonville: Prisoner of War Camp was written in the early 1990s by a member of the park staff. This lesson plan, along with others covering a wide range of historic topics, can be found online at http://www.cr.nps.gov/nr/twhp/.
