Anacostia Park has many different features of potential use to teachers, including fields, wetland areas, the river, and facilities.  The education coordinator will work with your group, at the park or at your school, to facilitate or arrange a quality education experience.  Call (202) 426-6905.

Anacostia Park is a site used in the Bridging the Watershed education program for high school students.  It is also a suitable site for service learning projects on sedimentation, water quality, bird and aquatic life.

Did You Know?
Scottish stonemasons were hired to build and carve the sandstone walls of the White House. Painters then covered the walls in 1798 with a whitewash to keep water and ice from seeping inside the walls and breaking them apart. So it was white from the beginning.
