The Bassmaster Elite Series is returning to Amistad National Recreation Area to kick off the 2007 season with the “Battle On The Border”. The season-opener for 2006 produced near record-breaking weights with eventual winner Ish Monroe weighing-in with a 3 day total of 104 pounds, 8 ounces. Last month, Lake Amistad was also the site of the season-opening event for the 2007 Mercury Marine Women's Bassmaster Tour, where Texan Juanita Robinson set a Women's Bassmaster Tour record with a three-day catch of 56 pounds, 2 ounces. Launches will begin at 6:50 a.m. at the Diablo East Ramp, with weigh-in beginning at 3:00 p.m.
