  • New Visitor Center Hours

    As of Sunday, June16, 2013 the Visitor Center will be closed on Sundays. The Visitor Center will now be open Monday through Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Lake Amistad is home to several species of aquatic plants. Pondweed and Hydrilla are the most common, seen in abundance around the edge of the lake. They provide shelter for the young fish and invertebrates that feed the trophy bass our visiting fishermen catch.

Eagle Nest Cave in Langtry, TX

There are many caves or "rock shelters" like this near Amistad National Recreation Area. Many of these rock shelters show signs of having human occupation up to 10,000 years ago.
