Park Purpose
The purpose of Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument is to provide for the preservation, protection, interpretation, and scientific study of Alibates flint deposits associated with the activities and cultural resources of the indigenous peoples.

Laws and Policies
Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument was established when the enabling legislation adopted by Congress was signed into law on August 31, 1965.

Currently, Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument and Lake Meredith National Recreation Area are managed jointly. Both sites are considered in the following documents:
