A guide to 100 river trips from Alaska's North Slope through Southcentral to the Alaska Peninsula. An updated version is in preparation, according to the first author.

The Alaska River Guide

by Karen Jettmar Alaska Northwest Books 1998 ISBN 0882404790

Information on almost 80 Alaska river trips for canoe, kayak and raft. Jettmar's book includes information on remote access and appropriate boating and camping equipment. She also provides gear lists, a section on traveling with children, and guidance on low impact approaches to minimize effects on cultural and natural resources.

Fast and Cold: A Guide to Alaska Whitewater

A guide to 79 of Alaska's best whitewater runs, including both shorter technical stretches of whitewater and multi-day wilderness trips. Embick also provides information and advice on access, equipment, and safety in the context of Alaska's unique logistical and physical challenges.
