Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program

How We Work

Our premise is simple. Citizens with an idea for an outdoor recreation or conservation project for their community first discuss their ideas with other resident citizens to see if there is common interest and build support. Then, they bring their idea to nearby RTCA professionals who provide guidance for the best course of action. RTCA can help by providing technical assistance to guide you through the project step-by-step. Through combined efforts with communities, RTCA helps Alaskans create public parks; protect waterways, networks of trails and greenways; and conserve open space.
