How to Apply

The Shared Beringian Heritage Program (SBHP) at the National Park Service is pleased to announce our 2013 "Call for Proposals." The SBHP is seeking applications for projects that further the goals of the program by fostering partnerships, engaging communities, and promoting cooperation across the Bering Strait. Proposals are due August 1, 2012. Projects funded under this program may be either scientific research projects or local, community-based educational, cultural or conservation projects that fulfill some or all of the goals of the Beringia program.

NEW: Aspects of the application have changed from previous years to standardize the process and assist those less experienced with proposal writing. The SBHP is also offering optional pre-submission events to further assist you in developing your proposal. Please see 2013 Beringia Proposal Instruction and 2013 Beringia Project Application for further information. The documents provided here are a fill-in .pdf version of the instructions and application. These fill-in .pdfs are the requested method of project proposal submission, so please use them when applying for Beringia funding.

Applications may be submitted directly to the SBHP or through www.grants.gov (posting number P12AS11228). Selection results will be announced in late October 2012.

Please note, that project funding is not provided through a grant (the NPS does not have grant making authority for this program). Rather, projects are cooperative and therefore must include substantial NPS involvement.

Please contact Elizabeth Shea if you have any questions or need assistance with the application. We look forward to your future proposals.
